Summer Camp Fun Is Just Weeks Away

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – The Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation Department offers many camps and programs to keep children and teens active and engaged throughout the summer. Appomattox River Camp For ages 7-12 Explore the shores of the Appomattox River at this new five-day camp at Point of Rocks Park. Activities include fishing, kayaking, archery, nature exploration and crafts. Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Call for session dates. $70 Details: 706-2734 Camp Red Tail Hawk For ages 6-10 Explore the outdoors at this five-day camp at Rockwood Park. Enjoy rock climbing, nature exploration, disc golf, letterboxing, geocaching, horseshoes and nature photography. Be creative with arts and crafts. Monday-Thursday, June 29-July 30, 1-5 p.m. Offered at these elementary schools: Salem Church, Hopkins, Beulah, Jacobs Road, Chalkley and Marguerite Christian.
