The Richmond Police Department has arrested and charged six middle school students in connection with the assault of a school bus driver Tuesday.
At approximately 7:35 a.m. yesterday, the students assaulted the 55-year-old male bus driver on a Richmond Public Schools bus near the intersection of Idlewood and Sheppard streets. The bus driver stopped the bus and called police.
After an investigation in cooperation with the Richmond Public Schools in which the six students were identified, each student was charged with aggravated assault and assault by mob. Both charges are felonies.
