RICHMOND, VA – The Richmond Flying Squirrels will host a holiday party at The Diamond on Saturday, December 12^th from 10 AM – 2 PM to aid Toys for Tots.  The team will be collecting new, unwrapped toys to be distributed to children during the holiday season.  For each toy donated at the holiday party, fans will earn the opportunity to win once-in-a-lifetime baseball and ballpark experiences from the Flying Squirrels.  The holiday party is free for all fans.

“We will always do everything we can to aid the people in this community,” said Flying Squirrels’ Vice President & COO Todd “Parney” Parnell.  “We feel extremely fortunate to be in a position to brighten the holidays for kids, while also hosting another fun event at the ballpark that allows us to interact with our fans.”

“Parney” will literally be doing all that he can at the event, donning the primarily green suit of “Parney the Elf,” and joining Santa Claus at the party for photo opportunities and visits from kids.   The Toys for Tots holiday party at The Diamond will also include tours of renovations being made to the ballpark, holiday shopping at the Squirrels brand-new merchandise store, a make-your-own holiday ornament table, hot chocolate, milk and cookies, and more.

Prizes for Toy Donation:

• Flying Squirrels Batboy or Batgirl for a Game
• Flying Squirrels Promo Crew Member for an Inning
• Flying Squirrels Radio Broadcaster for an Inning
• Flying Squirrels Public Address Announcer for an Inning
• First Pitch Opportunities at a Flying Squirrels Game
• Taking Lineup Card to Plate Meeting at a Flying Squirrels Game
• Exclusive Flying Squirrels Autograph Party Invitations

For each toy donated, fans will receive raffle tickets which can be submitted for the prize or prizes of their choosing.  At the conclusion of the party, winners will be selected and announced.  Fans will not need to be present to win.  Fans that cannot attend the Toys for Tots holiday party are encouraged to drop off toys at The Diamond in the Flying Squirrels front office or the Flying Squirrels merchandise store Monday – Friday between the hours of 9 AM – 6 PM, or Saturday from 10 AM – 4 PM.
