Snag a Date at the Short Pump Auction on October 13th

Snagajob is now in the dating business. Well, at least for one night. They’re hosting their annual event, Snagadate, at the Aloft Hotel in Short Pump on October 13th. They’re hoping to surpass last year’s fundraising event total which raised almost $11,000 with 100% of the proceeds going to the American Heart Association (AHA). In total, they’ve raised more than $20,000 over the past two years.

Snagajob is now in the dating business. Well, at least for one night. They’re hosting their annual event, Snagadate, at the Aloft Hotel in Short Pump on October 13^th. They’re hoping to surpass last year’s fundraising event total which raised almost $11,000 with 100% of the proceeds going to the American Heart Association (AHA). In total, they’ve raised more than $20,000 over the past two years.

Here’s the Scoop

There is no charge to attend the event, although they do recommend a $5 minimum donation which goes to AHA. With any donation, you receive a wrist band that allows you to enjoy some delicious, free appetizers and lots of fun while you browse the date packages.

Men and women are invited. Whether you’re married, single, engaged, or in any other type of relationship, you’re invited. Come with a date, a spouse, a friend, or come alone. Everyone is welcome.

Date Packages

Date packages will be auctioned off during the evening and you have an opportunity to browse the various packages prior to bidding. There are plenty of different types of packages to choose from too. A vacation in Charleston SC, a stay at the Jefferson Hotel including brunch, two free skydiving adventures, tickets to VCU and UR games, an evening including dinner at the Blue Goat or other equally as impressive restaurants in the Richmond area are possible options.

Bid on a beach house for a week, snow skiing weekends, or couples massages and fitness activities. Another special date package is offered by Mosaic including a dinner party for 8 with their chef preparing appetizers and a 3 course meal in your home. They’ll also provide wine pairings.

There will be so many data package to choose from, you’ll want to bid on more than one. You can even pool your resources with other friends or couples and purchase a date package together like a rental house to be shared at the Outer Banks or the wonderful inhome catering by Mosaic. You can even purchase a package for a “girl’s or guy’s getaway” instead of making it a “date”.

Bring Your Own Person

You’ll get everything you need for a wonderful date – all you have to do is bring along your spouse, friend, or partner to enjoy the date package you purchase! After all, the date packages don’t come with the “actual date” – you supply the person(s) of your choice.

Snagadate is also lots of fun because you socialize with friends and network with lots of local business people. Enjoy incredible gourmet food catered by Groovin’ Gourmet and sip on your favorite beverages from the cash bar.

Honoring Heart Disease Survivors

The event is hosted by a professional auctioneer who is passionate about the cause. He is a heart disease survivor and helping raise money for the AHA is near and dear to his heart. Seeing him in action is worth attending the event as he’s sure to bring lots of entertainment too.

Heather Harsh of Snagajob in Short Pump, who first came up with the idea 3 years ago, wanted to honor her mom who is a heart disease survivor. “I have a special place in my heart for this event. It means so much to me because my mother has survived heart disease and raising money for research, treatment and cures is so important,” she explains.

Heather is also excited about this year’s new location in Short Pump. “For the past two years, the event has been held in downtown Richmond, but we wanted to find a new location this year. Short Pump is the perfect place and Aloft is a beautiful venue. It’s so modern and elegant, and it’s easily accessible with lots of free parking which makes it even more attractive. The staff at Aloft have been incredible to work with too so we’re excited about what they have to offer.”

Event Details

In addition to date packages, there are also raffle prizes. There are so many reasons to attend the Snagadate night event on Thursday, October 13 from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. that we can’t list them all here. So you’ll just have to join us at the event and see for yourself.
