Short Pump Shorts: McAllister’s Returns, Frame Shop Moving & More

A local deli makes a return to Short Pump, a frame shop is moving and Walmart is getting a facelift. More on these stories in this edition of Short Pump Shorts.

Deli Returning

A familiar name is returning to Short Pump. McAllister’s Deli, which closed several years ago in the Downtown Short Pump shopping center, is returning in the same center, but in a different building across the parking lot. The former deli was located in the space that Johnny Rockets occupies. The new location is adjacent to Game Stop and Burger King. Interior build-out is well underway, but no opening date has been announced.

Walmart Makeover

The Short Pump Walmart is undergoing major renovations. Crews have given the building a fresh coat of paint both inside and out, updated the store with the company’s new branding, logos and signage and are reorganizing merchandise and departments to be easier to find. Work will be complete later this summer.

Frame Shop Moving

Custom framing shop West End Gallery is moving into the Shoppes at Westgate. The business is taking over space formerly occupied by 3Sports, which moved to West Broad Village several months ago. Store build-out has yet to begin. The second-generation family owned business dates back to 1967 and is currently located in the Gayton Crossing shopping center.
