Did you volunteer for September 11 National Day of Service? Please share your experiences, it does not have to be James River or outdoors related.

If you volunteered, thank you. Giving the gift of time is oftentimes more important than giving money — and can leave a more lasting impression on your soul.

I spent time with my son at a Reedy Creek cleanup Saturday, and though I didn’t feel like it was work related to 9/11, at least I was volunteering my time somewhere.

I like the idea of dedicating time and effort to memorialize those that lost lives or to honor those that responded to emergency calls that day. To this day, I also like to think positive thoughts for those soldiers, police officers, firemen, FBI and CIA operatives, workers, etc., that each day are dedicated to keeping our country safe.
