Lt.Greene’s Sector 111 March report (PDF) is now available. Sector 111 encompasses Church Hill, Chimborazo, Church Hill North, Fulton, Oakwood, and Union Hill.

As for Sector 111, we were able to end the first quarter of 2012 with an overall decrease of 21% in Violent Crimes. Compared to this time last year, there were (19) reported violent crimes compared to (15) violent crimes currently reported. The major contributing factors to this great accomplishment were the hard work by officers, detectives and citizens throughout Sector 111. This is just another example of how the outstanding partnership between the Community and the Richmond Police Department can eliminate crime within the neighborhood!

During this time period, detectives were able to solve two separate robberies that resulted in the arrest of five juveniles. The first case happened in the 1500 block of North 31st Street, in which the victim was robbed of her personal items by three individuals.

The second case happened in Libbie Hill Park, in which the two offenders walked up to the victim and asked for the time. When the victim pulled out his phone the two suspects assaulted him while demanding, “Where’s the money?” Two juvenile suspects were apprehended shortly after the incident, with the assistance of citizens who were out enjoying a warm day at the park but wanted to make a difference in their community.
