On Monday, the Planning Commission will consider dividing the lot at 3020 Rugby Road into 6 lots for 6 new houses. The folks at Save Marburg House are saying that this puts the oldest house in the Byrd Park/Carillon area up for demolition:

The beautiful circa 1889 Marburg House in Byrd Park by the Carillon is threatened with demolition by investors seeking to build 6 houses on its 1 acre lot. This is unwelcome and unnecessary. Please support the efforts to save this historic home!

This is the oldest home in the Byrd Park/Carillon area and pre-dates Maymont. While the outside may look like a typical farmhouse, the interior is anything but with expansive rooms, gorgeous detailing, and untouched authenticity. Help us save this step back in time from egregious vandalism.
