Are you green? Do you want to be? Do you support the City of Richmond’s promises to be green? Don’t just expect it to happen, be a part of it and help make sure RVAGreen happens.

This is your chance to have your say: Economic Development, Open Space and Land Use, Environment, Transportation and Energy. From the office of the City of Richmond’s Sustainability Manager:

The City of Richmond is building a sustainable future and we need your input! Join Mayor Dwight C. Jones for a Community Workshop to help shape the Sustainability Plan for Richmond’s future.

Thursday, June 9, 2011, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Carillon Tower, Byrd Park
1300 Blanton Ave., Richmond, VA 23221

Registration and light refreshments begin at 5 p.m.

At the Community Workshop, the City will present work done to date on RVA Green: A Roadmap to Sustainability and seek community feedback to inform the next steps in the development of the Sustainability Plan. RVA Green is the first sustainability plan for the City of Richmond and the City will work with the community in a process to develop a framework for sustainability over the next nine to twelve months.

The City launched the website, www.richmondgov.com/sustainabilityplan, to help residents keep track of the planning process and provide input. The City of Richmond is committed to sustainability and we want all city residents to enjoy an improved quality of life, a healthy environment and enhanced economic opportunity.
