The Riverside Drive roadway west of Huguenot Flatwater is just as scenic as the roadway east as it heads toward Pony Pasture, but there always seems to be so much less traffic and more peace and quiet.

It is the perfect place for runners, bikers, dog walkers and baby strollers. The one drawback is that the banks of the James River in that area are all privately owned and there is no river access, but the scenery is great.

Of course, right now with all the construction happening at the Huguenot Bridge, this area is a bit of a hassle for some to visit, which may contribute to less traffic.

How often do you venture to this area of the James River? Is this the best area to bike, run or walk, especially with less traffic?
