Dogs running free down at the James River is always a touchy subject. It seems like the perfect place to let your dog run wild…until it isn’t.

I don’t own a dog, but many of my friends (and regular readers to this blog) are dog lovers. Many of those dog lovers take their dogs to the river with regularity.  I’m all for responsible owners acting responsibly with their pets.

There are also those that let the James River Park be their dog daycare – letting their dogs run free off the leash, getting into people’s faces, picnics, shaking themselves dry all over their stuff, etc. Certain parts of the more notorious than others — North Bank and the Main Area first come to mind.

Where are you on this? What do you think about dogs in the James River Park? Please share your comments.
