A water rescue on the James River for two kayakers near First Break Rapids Saturday evening at around 6:30 p.m., in the same area where a man riding a log had to be rescued. From the Richmond Fire Department twitter account:
- Units are working a WATER RESCUE AT BELLE ISLAND. TWO KAYAKERS IN DISTRESS. Sounds like in the area of the island called First Break. NFD
- Units deployed a boat at this time. NFD
- Units have one boat in the water at this time. A air unit does have a visual of the kayers. They are floating down stream.
- Both victims are in the boat and are enroute back to shore.
