You’ve no doubt seen the bumper stickers, shirts and other merchandise around town. The “Life Is Good” brand is everywhere. And now, Richmond is about to get its own store. The company plans to open a location in the Short Pump Station shopping center near Trader Joe’s in the near future.

While a limited selection of Life Is Good brand merchandise is currently available at retail outlets around Richmond such as Dick’s Sporting Goods and Blue Ridge Mountain Sports, currently the only two company stores in Virginia are located in Alexandria and Norfolk. The two Virginia locations are operated as “Jake’s of Old Town” and “Celebrate Life,” respectively. “Jake” refers to the likable, smiling stick figure character featured on all of the store’s merchandise.

The company also has a strong presence in the Outer Banks of North Carolina with four stores from Corolla to Rodanthe and in the immensely popular Kitty Hawk Kites stores.

Build-out of the Short Pump store is now underway, but there’s no word on an opening date as of yet.
