How old should my child be in order to attend kindergarten for the 2011/2012 school year?
A child must be 5 years old on or before September 30, 2011

What time should I come?
8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

What should I bring with me to registration?
1) Certified copy of the child’s birth certificate

2) Child’s Social Security number*

3) Proof of county residency*

4) School Entrance Health Form completed by a licensed medical provider.

Part I-Health Information Form

Part II-Certification of Immunization

Part III-Comprehensive Physical Examination Report completed within the twelve months prior to the date the child first enters kindergarten **

Does my child need to come with me to registration?
No, children are not required to attend registration

If I move during the summer to another school zone in my same county/city, do registration records transfer between schools?
Yes, we can transfer all documents within our own county/city. However, parents will need to provide the new school with proof of residence at the new address.

If I move during the summer to another school jurisdiction (different county/city) do registration records transfer between school divisions?
No, you will need to take your registration documents to the new county/city school to register.

Is kindergarten a full day program?
Yes

What if I can’t come on April 7?
If it is not possible to register on April 7, parents should call the school to set up an appointment as soon as possible.

What if I need help getting all of the paperwork together?
Speak to your school first, then call 2-1-1 for additional community resources. 2-1-1 is an abbreviated dialing code for free access to health and human services information and referral (I&R) and is available to everyone needing help, especially in times of crisis.
