The Richmond Police Department needs the public’s help identifying the man who robbed the Family Dollar store at 1720 Williamsburg Road last Thursday.

Around 6 p.m. March 31, the suspect entered the Family Dollar at 1720 Williamsburg Road and demanded money from a store employee. No weapon was displayed, but the suspect kept his hand inside his coat and motioned toward the employee in a threatening manner as if he had a weapon. The suspect took the money and ran away from the store.

The suspect is a black male in his 40s, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 160 to 170 pounds. The suspect wore a brown bucket-style hat with a distinct gold design, a blue-and-white checkered scarf, a black jacket with buckles on the shoulders and blue jeans.

Anyone with information about the suspect wanted in this commercial robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000 or text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by your tip. Both methods to provide tips are anonymous.
