New information has come out today in a suspicious situation that occurred Friday afternoon towards the Interstate 64 side of West Broad Village Friday afternoon. Several readers alerted us that a helicopter and emergency vehicles were swarming the development mid-afternoon.

James Barrett, publisher of neighborhood resident news portal Residents of West Broad Village, reports that Henrico Police searched the neighborhood and surrounding area after a male HomeGoods employee never returned from his afternoon break.

“After an unsuccessful search, investigators uncovered additional details leading them to believe he was still in the neighborhood. On Friday afternoon, police discovered the man unconscious but still alive on the shore of the retention pond near the Whole Foods Village Community Garden.”

No additional information is known at this time, but we’ll continue to follow this story as it develops.
