Virginia Eye Institute, long known for its range of optical services around the Richmond area and beyond, has opened a new state-of-the-art facility in the Towne Center West development. The Short Pump center, which officially opened Monday, offers everything from standard eye exams to surgical procedures.

DTSP toured the new facility last week, which has more of the feel of a tech startup than an eye center. It boasts twelve exam rooms, an optical laboratory and atrium-style glass lobby and designer eyewear shop.

“Our goal is to create a positive experience for our patients and provide them with optimal eye care in a comfortable environment,” Dr. Amanda Kelley of Virginia Eye Institute said. ”Patients can easily have prescriptions filled by pharmacies or other providers because we can quickly and easily forward their prescription electronically to their choice of providers. No more paper prescriptions for medications are needed.”

Photos of the new facility can be seen below.
