Here’s another post that is long overdue. At the start of the New Year, erstwhile European Market re-branded themselves as Olio. The spot–located at 2001 1/2 W. Main Street has been re-imagined inside and out. Fortunately they didn’t change what has made them a must visit Fan spot.

Olio has great sandwiches, salads, and prepared foods. In addition they carry an extensive assortment of Mediterranean foods. It’s a perfect lunch or dinner spot for freshly prepared and healthy meals. I’m yet to be disappointed and usually sample whatever specials they have. Their beer and wine selection is also solid and eclectic.

Perhaps best of all is the approachable staff, always eager to make dishes to order. If you don’t see what you want, just ask. Olio also has a lunch cart that you can find down near VCU (Floyd Ave. at Shafer Court) during the week.
