This morning I’ve switched North Richmond News’s calendar over from custom software to Yahoo’s Upcoming. The hope is to integrate more with RVANews’s event calendar. Here are some things you need to know:
- You’ll need a Yahoo account to add events to the calendar. It’s the same as your Flickr account if you’ve got one. Or if you participate in any of the area Yahoo Groups you should have one.
- Once you have an account you’ll need to join this group: http://upcoming.yahoo.com/group/15782/
- After you add an event make sure you send it to the North Richmond News group so it will show up on our calendar in the sidebar.
That’s it. It should be pretty easy. We’ll be adding a few event here and there but we’ll mostly rely on you guys, the event owners, to add your own events. The benefit of doing things through Upcoming is that if you are a member of the RVANews Upcoming Group you can send your event to that calendar as well. Let us know if you have any questions!
