An email today from the Department of Planning & Development Review has word on some changes coming to Boulevard:

The city has selected the New York-based firm Two Twelve Associates to develop a wayfinding signage program for Downtown and the Boulevard area. It is the first phase of a project that will develop a signage program unique to Richmond and help guide residents and visitors to the many attractions in these areas of the city. The city’s current wayfinding system is outdated and incongruous.

The selection of Two Twelve involved city officials and local museum and cultural representatives who reviewed seven proposals and interviewed several firms before making the final selection.

The project is anticipated to be underway this winter. Two Twelve will be partnering locally with BAM Architects.

Two Twelve has completed similar wayfinding projects in Charlotte, Downtown Baltimore, as well as numerous projects in New York City.
