C. Wayne Taylor alerted the Oregon Hill blog that the City of Richmond has purchased a long-awaited the canal bridge.

Oregon Hill has been waiting for roughly 8 years for the bridge since the awarding of state grants. The plan is to replace the current wooden bridge that crosses the dry Kanawha Canal under the Robert E. Lee Bridge that was constructed by volunteers. See the full report on the Oregon Hill blog.
