New Farmers Market Opening West of Short Pump This Spring

The market will favor farmers, growers and producers who farm the land using sustainable agricultural practices or raise livestock using humane and sustainable practices. By providing a direct marketing opportunity to these groups and by providing educational opportunities to consumers, they hope to sustain the regional farming economy and helps ensure the future of farming in Central Virginia.

Plans are in place to open on Saturday, May 7th, running through the end of October. The market will be located at 68 Broad Street Road in Manakin-Sabot, near Bogey’s Sports Park, just west of Short Pump.

The business has assembled a regional advisory committee and also has an experienced volunteer coordinator and volunteer crew. Entertainers, kid’s activities and demonstrations are also being lined up now.
