A new bedding company has opened its doors at Short Pump Town Center, bringing a unique boutique mattress, bedding and accessory shopping experience to the area. The store, located on the upper floor near Macy’s, is the company’s first location of what co-owners Gian Fazio and Karolina Kaczmarek hope will be many more.

“We believe authenticity and craftsmanship lead to personal luxury. It’s a lifestyle choice,” said Fazio.

Gian has spent the last year traveling the world with Kaczmarek in search of  handcrafted products that could fuse their vision for old world luxury with a modern touch. With a rich family history in the industry, the two selected Richmond as the first location to debut their refreshing approach, with further locations planned for Charlottesville, Virginia, Washingon, D.C. and New York.

“We feel that a truly authentic bed must be made of many complex and complimentary layers, creating the perfect night’s sleep,” said Karolina. “Carefully crafted and designed with great attention to detail, all of our beds and bedding make a perfect addition to any bedroom.”

Products available to the Richmond audience will include hand-crafted European upholstered beds and a variety of accessories including fine linen featuring delicate hand drawn patterns. The beds, like all of the products at Layers Bed Company, are designed to complement the Layers collection in order to address each layer that makes up the sleeping experience.

From bed linen crafted from the finest cotton to mattresses hand-built in Virginia, Layers Bed Company custom makes all of the products in its collection so that each of its pieces complements the other.

The store plans to give back to the community starting with their “Layers of Love” campaign, designed to capture the spirit of Valentine’s Day and the theme of giving. During the entire month of February, the store will feature a donation basket for patrons to drop off gently used comforters and throw blankets for charity. Customers who donate a blanket during the month of February will receive a 20% discount on any accessories from the collection. Layers Bed Company will donate all contributions to CHIP of Richmond (Children’s Health Involving Parents).
