National Night Out will be observed in Petersburg on August 4. 2009. Neighborhood groups are encouraged to engage in activities that promote fellowship, the sharing of crime prevention messages while forming valuable relationships with police officers. Citizens can visit the National Night Out 2009 official website at www.nationaltownwatch.org and register their event or call the Petersburg Police nonemergency number at 732-4222. During National Night Out, Chief John Dixon, III and a delegation of city officials will be visiting various neighborhoods throughout the city from 6-9 p.m. with prizes and t-shirts for those who register by midnight JULY 29, 2009.
