The Times Dispatch focused on Carytown once again in their BizzBuzz section. This week they had a conversation with the new Carytown Merchant Association President- Bob Broomfield. In the article, Broomfield said that one way the association hopes to help the businesses in the area is to have more special events. He even mentioned having them as frequently as once a month.

Possible events could include a beer festival — similar to the Carytown Wine Festival — and a “chalk day,” where local artists and students would create pieces of art on the sidewalk using chalk.

The group hopes to have a calendar of events locked in by the end of the month.

So I gotta ask, do you like the excitement of having cool events in Carytown? Or do you find them annoying because they are crowded and parking is difficult?
