Found this curious article this morning in the Richmond Times Dispatch. Will keep an eye out to see if this actually comes out to be true.


A man told police he was shot early today in an attempted robbery in a South Richmond alley. Richmond police Lt. Angela Greene said the man was taken to VCU Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound to the lower right leg. The man’s injuries were not life-threatening, Greenesaid.

Greene said the man told police he was walking in an alley in the first block of East 34th Street when he was confronted at 12:34 a.m. by an assailant brandishing a gun and demanding money. The man told police that when he refused, the assailant fired several shots at him, striking him once.

The man declined to provide a detailed description of the assailant.
