A Far West End church is taking an untraditional approach to a holiday tradition with the return of a popular event this weekend. Gayton Baptist Church is hosting a Jazz Nativity at their location on North Gayton Road.

Now in its fourth year, this event draws music aficionados as well as those who simply enjoy the music of the Christmas season. Last year, over 1000 people were in attendance, and organizers say they are anticipating 1600 people this year.

Proceeds from the Jazz Nativity benefit global missions, meeting the physical and spiritual needs of people around the world.

To accommodate the busy schedules of the season, the church is hosting four identical programs. Performances will be held Saturday, December 3rd and Sunday, December 4th at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Gourmet coffee and desserts will be available each night from Starbucks.

Tickets are available online via the church website.
