Nearly 600 people came out to Bogey’s Sports Park on Saturday, September 18 for a free community event sponsored by Atlee Community Church. Open to the public, unlimited miniature golf, driving range buckets and batting cage tokens were just a few of the freebies that many enjoyed.

Fresh-grilled hot dogs, sides, drinks and Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwiches were all available. And if that wasn’t enough, guests could register to win an iPad.

Attendees participated in three-legged races, pie eating contests, and a moon bounce. Kids could also get their face painted and cool off with a sno-cone while listening to the Atlee Band, who rocked out the evening with a little bit of everything.

The evening was an opportunity for residents of Short Pump to meet new people and learn a little bit about their neighbors at Atlee Community Church.

The church opened its West End campus earlier this year. Meeting at 10:30 on Sunday mornings in Short Pump Middle School, the church wanted to give back to its community in a way that could be free, fun and exciting for everyone.

Atlee has been growing for more than 15 years, with its first campus in Mechanicsville.
