West Broad Street Village’s new old-fashioned candy store is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a poetry contest to raise money for Mended Little Hearts of Central Virginia. The organization is a support network affiliated with the American Heart Association, and provides education, advocacy, awareness, and outreach for the families of children who live with heart defects and disease.

To enter, you can send or bring in an original poem about your favorite candy, along with a $1 donation, to Sweet Spot. The store will match your donation dollar for dollar, and all proceeds will go directly to Mended Little Hearts.

The deadline for submissions is Saturday, February 12th. The winner will be announced on the Sweet Spot website and in the store on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, and will win the “World’s Largest Gummy Bear.”
