A local bridal boutique is lending a hand to help with a big event to promote breast cancer research. Bella Rosa Bridal, Richmond’s leading bridal salon, located here in Short Pump, is sponsoring the Pink Tie Gala and helping out with various aspects of the event. The dinner and dance helps to raise money for the Richmond chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

“Bella Rosa contacted me to offer their support at the beginning of this year’s planning and have been my strongest supporter,” organizer Susan Groves said. “Not only did they offer financial sponsorship, but they also offered free tuxedo rentals to all the gentlemen partners for our dance team, and provided me with a dress for the event. Their staff has gone out of their way to make our gentlemen feel welcome and taken care of on their visits to the store.”

“We’re a big supporter of the local community,” Bella Rosa Formalwear and Marketing Manager Amanda Byrd said. “The Pink Tie Gala is a heartwarming event that creates breast cancer awareness and we are proud to be a supporter.”

The Pink Tie Gala will feature live music from the band Casper and feature dancing by six women who fought and survived breast cancer. James Pellicane, a prominent local doctor with a background in breast cancer research, will also do a performance.

Noted local author and breast cancer survivor Casey Quinlan will also be signing copies of her new book, “Cancer for Christmas.”

Tickets for the event are still available for $50, and can be purchased at Bella Rosa Bridal on West Broad Street near the I-64 interchange.
