Kayak jump ramp to return to Dominion Riverrock

It was last year around this time, as the Sports Backers prepared for Dominion Riverrock, their Brown’s Island celebration of outdoor sports, that [Mike] Andrews and his team were hard at work on their most challenging creation to date: a custom kayak jump ramp.
Forty feet tall with an 80-foot “kicker,” from which boaters launched themselves into the Haxall Canal, the finished product provided the event with its biggest “wow” element.
This year, Andrews is back at it for one of two new events the Sports Backers have added to the 2011 Riverrock on May 13 and 14.
