The James River Park is sponsoring a three-hour innertube float down the James Saturday afternoon from Main Area West to Reedy Creek.

Meet in the Reedy Creek visitor center parking lot at 2 p.m., but you must make reservations by calling 646-8911. The float should be over by 5 p.m. and there is a $5 fee.

From the James River Park:

Bob through riffles, pools and small rapids among waterfowl and interesting water plants in a remote-seeming part of the river. Some walking to the put in. Tubes, lifejackets and guides provided. Must be able to swim, wear sneakers, and above age 12. Reservations required. Park at HQ office (Reedy Creek Entrance) 4001 Riverside Drive.
