The Intermediate Terminal for most long-time Richmonders still conjures up the name “Annabel Lee” — the old riverboat cruises on the James River that have been dry-docked since Dec. 2003 – and we haven’t moved very far since.

In early April, I wrote about the River Walk in Montgomery, Alabama. The comparisons between Richmond and Montgomery are plenty, and this project could benefit from some of the structural beauty tips I learned on that visit.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch and NBC12 touched on the $750,000 proposal at the sometimes ignored and forgotten Intermediate Terminal. Yes, Doug Wilder might be the last politician to try to stake a claim to a plan there, with his failed city marina plan.

The RTD’s Will Jones wrote about the development plans (which include a possible restaraunt), financial commitments and the Ripp family’s stake in all of this. NBC12’s Ben Garbarek spoke with fishermen, who gave mixed reaction to the plan.
