One of my all-time favorite movies is Easter Parade starring Judy Garland and Fred Astaire (are you listening Movieland? No offense meant to The Godfather, but I think it would have been a more appropriate choice for this morning…) I get it out every year around this time – for obvious reasons – and marvel at the singing and dancing talent displayed.
You, too can walk in the Easter Parade. This very afternoon, in fact! Easter on Parade will take place on Monument Avenue between Allen and Davis streets from 1-5 p.m. Admission is free. Here’s more info from Venture Richmond:
Music fills the air with art and jewelry vendors, fun for children, food vendors, and people and dog watching are all a part of the holiday celebration. Two main highlights of the annual event are the pet bonnet and people bonnet showcases on the main stage at Allen Avenue. Be sure to enter your beloved Fido or your beautiful bonnet.
Happy Easter!
