Henrico Police are investigating a crime spree that took place in the Shady Ridge subdivision near Shady Grove and Nuckols Roads in the Wyndham area Monday night. Several vehicles were stolen and a number of GPS devices and garage items were taken, according to reports.

Police are calling the incidents crimes of opportunity, where valuables were left in plain view or cars were left unlocked with keys inside.

The Shady Ridge Homeowners Association sent an email alert out to neighbors reminding them to be vigilant and lock doors, remove high ticket items such as phones, iPods and GPS units from plain view, and keep porch lights on to deter would-be criminals.

Those with any information on Monday’s incidents or individuals who see suspicious activity are asked to call the Henrico Police non-emergency number at 501-5000.
