Henrico Police are asking for the public’s assistance after an attempted carjacking at the Short Pump Target store in the 11200 block of West Broad Street. Around 10:30 p.m. Friday night, authorities say a male suspect forced his way inside a female victim’s car in the store’s parking lot and demanded her keys, allegedly sexually assaulting her in the process.

The victim warded off her attacker by kicking him and then exiting the vehicle through the passenger side door. She then entered the store, where she notified employees of the incident and called police.

Police describe the suspect’s vehicle as a hatchback-style, two-door, dark gray or blue car. The suspect is around 30 to 40-years-old, 6’3” or 6’4”, with a slender build, short brown hair and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a beige sweater.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
