If you are concerned about the homeless population of Richmond, you might consider attending Hands Across Richmond. From the event coordinator:

On March 20th from 9AM-2PM, Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church (1627 Monument Ave.) will host a conference designed to inform concerned members of our community about the plight of homelessness in the Richmond region and to invite our neighbors to be part of the development of a plan whereby we can all be part of the hope and solution.

As residents of this city we love, we are regularly confronted with the fact that homelessness is a real problem in our community. You are invited to attend this informative program and to contribute to the discussion about finding ways to care for our neighbors in need.

These remarkable organizations will be on-hand to guide us in our conversations and reflections: The Healing Place, Daily Planet, Conrad Center, Homeward, CARITAS Furniture Warehouse, Carver Promise, Church Hill Activities and Tutoring (CHAT), Embrace Richmond, Daughters of Zelophehad, and Strategies to Elevate People (STEP).

There is a $10 registration fee to defray the cost of continental breakfast and lunch.  Childcare will be available at no cost to event participants. Reservations may be made up until Friday, March 19th, however due to catering requirements we cannot place lunch orders after Tuesday, March 16th.
