August 4th – 5th Lewis Ginter hosts the Green Tonic: Urban Gardening for Health & Wholeness symposium:

An event for neighborhood organizers and community leaders, urban planners, architects and designers, public officials, health advocates, local food activists, students, master gardeners, and more. Learn about exemplary community gardening and urban greening initiatives in Philadelphia, New York, and Chicago; the policies and practices that help them succeed; and what Richmond area residents can do to take urban gardening and greening in our community to the next level.

Check out the speaker list on Lewis Ginter’s site — pretty interesting. Registration is $75 and includes a dinner and a lunch.
