Thanks to everyone who came out to the GFHCA General Meeting last night at the NRC. The evening was highlighted by an interesting and informative presentation by Ms. Veronica Jemmott of Virginia Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) on the upcoming community initiative in Fulton.

Virginia LISC will be working with the residents of Fulton over the next two years to identify neighborhood concerns and priorities for improvement, and to make those improvements happen. It’s a very exciting time for Fulton! Stay tuned for more information as this initiative gets underway this spring.

Councilwoman Cynthia Newbille of the 7^th District discussed convening community leaders in the East End to identify common interests and work towards improving all of the East End.

Lt. James Laino of the Richmond Police Department updated residents on crime in Fulton. There are no current trends, but it’s always important to be vigilant and keep your houses and apartments locked to reduce opportunities for crime.

The Spring Newsletter will be distributed in April, and distribution help is always needed. Please contact us if you can help.

A neighborhood Garden Club will be forming in the spring, so if you are interested sharing garden ideas, plants, or learning about gardening, please contact us.

The snow has mercifully covered all of the trash on our streets. But the snow will melt, and all that trash will still be there. Please put trash in trash cans, and if you are out in the neighborhood, pick up the trash that you see.  It is up to us to keep our neighborhood clean, as no one else will do it for us.

The Greater Fulton Hill Civic Association is here for you. The Association’s email address is greaterfulton@gmail.com. There are no dues, and everyone is invited to participate. The next General Meeting will be held on Tuesday April 13^th at 7pm at the NRC.
