Note from the Friends of the James River Park about the James River Regional cleanup Saturday:

Saturday, June 11th, JRAC Annual James River Clean Up
Reedy Creek & Pony Pasture

Volunteer Saturday with James River Regional CleanupThe annual JRAC-sponsored James River clean-up Saturday, June 11th has two JRPS locations, Reedy Creek and Pony Pasture. Both sites are closed to pre-registration since enough people have signed up. Dedicated FOJRP member Stephanie Saccone and helpers run the Reedy Creek section for us, including whipping up lunch for volunteers. The equally devoted Lynda Richardson and Mike Ostrander run the Pony Pasture one. Doesn’t matter where you help, the river and park will be the better for your time and efforts.  Pitch in other places along the river by signing up here to help from 9-1: James River clean-up

Whether you’ve signed up or not, at Reedy Creek from noon or so on, you have the chance to get elbow deep in what’s been gathered from all over the park and recycle what can be recycled. A thrill of a lifetime! It’s a slimy treasure hunt perfect for those whose sense of humor is stronger than their sense of smell.
