Shamin Hotels is about to open its 36th property, a full-service Hilton Hotel, December 1, 2009 in Short Pump. Standing majestic at 116 feet and eight stories tall, the Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa at Short Pump Town Center is 246,000 square feet of luxury, bringing a new paradigm to lodging and events in the greater Richmond area.
The hotel will offer 254 guestrooms and suites and over 22,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, including a grand ballroom that can accommodate more than 1,300 people. The hotel will also feature the upscale Shula’s America’s Steak House along with the contemporary Aura Spa and Salon; the only spa in Richmond to offer two couples treatment rooms.
“The community is welcoming the first Hilton in Richmond with great interest,” said Lori Darling, vice-president of sales and marketing for Shamin Hotels. “We are accepting group and event reservations for Dec 1 and beyond. We have two large conferences in December and numerous holiday parties on the books.” Darling says 2010 will be a busy year at the Hilton with the large amount of inquires for the event and meeting space that are coming in daily.
The Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa at Short Pump Town Center will offer spacious guest rooms furnished with Hilton’s signature upscale in-room amenities. Gues trooms will feature the Hilton Serenity Bed Package along with spacious workspaces with ergonomic chairs plus the technologically advanced GuestLink system, which includes a 42-inch flat-screen HDTV multi-media monitor that allows guests to plug in digital devices such as a laptop computer, game station console, video camera or iPod for a larger viewing experience.
In addition, rooms will boast an oversized bathroom with ample counter space and the Hilton Serenity Bath Collection, with the exclusive Crabtree & Evelyn line of La Source bath products. Other standard room amenities will include a Cuisinart dual-cup, single brew coffeemaker with Lavazza coffee; the easy-to-set Hilton alarm clock with MP3 player connectivity; and high-speed Internet and wireless access.
The hotel will offer guests the upgraded Hilton Fitness by Precor work-out facility with an indoor swimming pool and spa. The Aura Spa and Salon will feature Kerstin Florian products and treatments and is the only spa in Richmond that will offer two couples’ treatment rooms. The large lobby area will contain Shula’s Lounge, Aroma Coffee & Wine Bar. Just off the lobby there will be a relaxing outdoor patio, fire-pit and sun deck. For added convenience, the hotel will also feature complimentary Wi-Fi hotspots in the lobby and public areas and a 24-hour business center. Enhancements to the hotel will include the addition of Hilton Meetings, the industry leading meeting products.
The hotel conference center is capable of hosting from 10 to 1,300 people in the ballroom, numerous breakout rooms and the three Shula’s private dining rooms. This flexible meeting space is designed to host everything from a corporate conference or business meeting to an intimate gathering, lavish banquet, wedding or gala. The hotel will also feature an executive floor with an executive lounge and junior, executive and presidential suites.
The full-service restaurant featured at The Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa will be Shula’s America’s Steak House. A fine dining, white tablecloth restaurant, Shula’s steak house is themed after 1972’s Undefeated Miami Dolphins and their “Perfect Season” – the only team in NFL history to finish a season 17 – 0. Shula’s has the strictest guidelines for their custom center cuts and aging process, which make up the award winning Shula Cut steaks, Premium Black Angus beef.
