Children who are uninsured or who are enrolled in Medicaid can get free back-to-school physicals and vaccinations Friday, Aug. 21 at Richmond area free clinics.

Back-2-School Community Immunity is being sponsored by the Richmond Free Clinic Consortium. There is no charge, but the free clinics accept donations.

Vaccinations and booster shots and physicals will be offered to children entering kindergarten through 6th grade.

A parent or guardian must be with the child, and they should bring each child’s vaccination record. The clinics offering services are:

Fan Free Clinic, 1010 North Thompson St., 8 a.m.-5 p.m. by appointments or walk-in; appointments only from 5-7:30 p.m., 804-358-8538. Staff reserve the right to end walk-ins when capacity is reached regardless of the time.

Center for High Blood Pressure, vaccinations only, 1200 West Cary St., 9 a.m.-3 p.m. 804-359-9375.

The state Department of Education Web site and the Virginia Department of Health Web sites have information on requirements for school enrollment.
