**** Utopia Spa –
The time has come for our next Yoga Sessions to start!
Friday nights seem very busy through the Summer, so we’ve chosen to suspend our Friday night session until Fall.
The Tuesday night classes will start on July 7th, and continue thru August 18th ( No classes on July 28th) We will be having 2 Tuesday classes, one that starts at 5:30pm and one that starts at 7:15pm. They will be intermediate classes, but are appropriate for most beginners. We are also offering a Thursday morning Beginner class starting at 9:30am, July 9th thru August 20th ( No class on July 30th). All classes include one full hour of Yoga instruction, plus a wonderful 15 minutes of guided “Deep Relaxation “. The six week sessions are $55.00 and must be prepaid before the first class.
Due to our current class size restrictions, we’ve decided to process our Yoga classes in a new fashion. We feel that the best way to track sign ups, and to be fair about our “First come first served” policy is to have each student use our on-line booking to sign up. This will enable you to furnish all your information to us, including your payment information.
The cut off date for sign up is July 5th. At that point, if you have gotten in to the class you will be contacted, and your payment will automatically be processed using the credit card you supply during your on line booking.
Go to TheUtopiaSpa.com to book yourself for the next yoga session. Go to “Choose services”, scroll down to, and click on the “Yoga sessions sign up” tab. Please be sure to choose the 1 class time that best suites your needs. You will need to put an appointment time in the “Select appointment” section, but it can be any date or time, it means nothing. Please note in the “Comments section” if you are able to attend a different class if your first choice is not available, or any additional info you want us to know :)
For more information on booking, please call denise at 804.732.1234. For questions concerning yoga please contact Debbie Clayton, Yoga Instructor at 804.721.3468.

**** Route 36 Task Force Releases Virginia Tech Redevelopment Study of the Corridor; Public Meeting Set for Thursday, July 9 at 9am at the Train Station in Petersburg
The Route 36 Task Force, an initiative of the Petersburg Chamber of Commerce, this week released a study that suggests practical redevelopment strategies for the distressed Route 36 corridor. The Route 36 Study Report analyzes the current challenges facing the Route 36 corridor (Washington and Wythe Streets) between Petersburg and Fort Lee and suggests several scenarios under which redevelopment could be accomplished.
The study was conducted this spring by the Virginia Tech Urban Development Review Studio, a class of graduate students directed by Professor C. Theodore Koebel, Ph.D. The Phoenix Project facilitated and supported the partnership between the Route 36 Task Force and Virginia Tech as part of its university-community partnership building efforts in Petersburg. The full report is available at: http://www.phoenixproject.org/resources/Route36StudyReport.pdf
The Route 36 Task Force invites the public to a meeting at 9:00am on Thursday, July 9 at the Train Station in Petersburg to discuss the report and concrete next steps for revitalizing the corridor. Please share this announcement with anyone who may be interested, and please email Marion Werkheiser at marion@phoenixproject.org to let us know if you plan to attend.
