Mike Termini, a management expert who has analyzed citizen feedback about Petersburg, has concluded that the City is in need of “change” leadership.  Noting that there are two types of leaders — those who make change and those who sustain the status quo — Termini observed that Petersburg is a changing environment with a “sustain” leadership.

Termini, President and CEO of The Consulting Alliance Group, was the featured speaker at a May 18 meeting hosted by Ward 4 Councilman Brian Moore.  The meeting was the last in a series of five meetings at which citizen comments were solicited on recommendations of the Berkshire Efficiency Study and other citizen concerns.  Citing findings from previous studies of the city, including lack of accountability and a dysfunctional organizational structure, Termini observed that citizens think it is time for action – not more study.  According to Termini, fixing the organizational structure of the city is priority #1.

Councilman Moore plans one additional meeting in July, prior to the council’s annual planning retreat.
