The Department of Game and Inland Fisheries is investigating a late night boating accident on the James River that happened around 10:30 p.m. Friday.

The boat made it to Osborne Boat Landing in eastern Henrico County. From NBC12:

Investigators are still working out what caused a boating accident on the James River Friday night. It happened near Osborne Landing in Henrico when a boat collided with a buoy. In all, eight people were injured, including one who was rushed to the hospital by helicopter. The Department of Game and Inland Fisheries says the group was riding on a 20 foot boat when it collided with a buoy.
