Students at a local high school have organized a fundraiser at a home football game in dedication to finding a cure for breast cancer. Deep Run students will host a “Pink Out” at the October 14th game in support of breast cancer awareness.

The goal is to “raise money to find a cure for breast cancer and to prove that (their) generation can be the start of a revolution,” according to co-organizer Kate Smucker. “Young people are the fuel to making our world a better place,” she added.

All proceeds will be given to the Richmond Chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Not only will the field be “pinked out,” but football players and cheerleaders will sport the color as well, along with a student body of 1,808 in pink t-shirts. The game starts at 7:00 p.m.
