Squire to temporarily fill the position of Councilperson for the East End 7th District, which became vacant following a special election in which the elected holder of that seat (Councilwoman Delores McQuinn) was elected as 70th District Delegate to the Virginia General Assembly and resigned her Council position, as she was not legally able to hold both. Ms. Squire will hold the temporary appointed position until replaced by a person elected to fill the remaining term in general election held on November 10, 2009.
