Downtown Short Pump is known for it’s family-friendly environment, and the Children’s Museum of Richmond’s satellite museum located right in the heart of Short Pump is one of the most interactive family places for kids. CMoR offers lots of interactive activities, and special events throughout the year.

One of their upcoming events is The Zula Patrol: Mission Weather, which is based on the PBS children’s show. The event is sponsored by Erie Insurance and it promises to be a learning experience for children ages 3-8. There will even be daily character appearances by the show’s cast and a story time is included each day.

Kids will learn about clouds, temperatures, how power moves objects, and how changing weather conditions affect the earth. They’ll be able to participate in the activity center and they’ll have fun while learning important lessons.

The exhibit actually starts out at CMoR Central location on September 17 with the grand opening. After 5 weeks, it moves to Short Pump. Erie Insurance and CMoR have invited 400 second graders from four eastern Henrico schools to attend the exhibit free of charge.

“Our students and teachers are so excited to explore the Zula Patrol exhibit,” said Paula Roop, program manager of Henrico Education Foundation. “With its focus on weather, the exhibit and associated programming align well with the Virginia Standards of Learning.”

The Zula Patrol: Mission Weather opens at CMoR central on September 17 with a grand opening event. You can catch the exhibit at Short Pump CMoR October 24 – December 31, 2011.  CMoR Short Pumpis located at 2200 Old Brick Road, Glen Allen, VA — right behind the Whole Foods Store.

We’ve included this event on our DowntownShortPump.com calendar as a reminder so be sure and put us in your “favorites”.
