A new Mexican restaurant has opened on the Nuckols Road corridor. Last Thursday, September 2, Casa Grande opened the doors of their new location in Twin Hickory. The well-known and locally-owned Mexican restaurant has four other locations around the Richmond area, including a nearby restaurant in the Short Pump Crossing Shopping Center adjacent to Martin’s.
Casa Grande is situated in the outparcel that originally housed Bottoms Up Pizza, followed by Paradise Pizza, a short stint by the same owners and management of Bottoms Up. Owner James Jones broke ties as a franchise of the Shockoe Bottom location after repeated customer comments that the Short Pump location’s pizza wasn’t held in the same regard as the original restaurant, despite the fact that, according to Jones, all pizza ingredients used were identical.
