Casa Grande, the local Mexican restaurant chain that currently operates four locations around the Richmond area, is planning to open their fifth in Twin Hickory. The new location will be in the former Bottoms Up Pizza at Twin Hickory Town Center on Nuckols Road.
Renovations are currently underway to transform the outparcel into the new restaurant, which should open later this year.
In addition to being the original home of the West End Bottom’s Up Pizza, the building also housed Paradise Pizza, a short stint by the same owners and management of Bottoms Up. Owner James Jones broke ties as a franchise of the Shockoe Bottom location after repeated customer comments that the Short Pump location’s pizza wasn’t held in the same regard as the original restaurant, despite the fact that, according to Jones, all pizza ingredients used were identical.
